Spreading Positivity

GEM•ed’s underlying values has always been empowering the lives of individuals. We hope that everyone can be happy. Being positive helps one to be happier in life especially in times of adversity and pessimism. Life is very fragile, which needs constant nourishment and support. Our task is to nourish and encourage anyone who lacks positivity.


Our tasks ahead are set forth as below:

1. Spread positive messages and real life stories using social media
2. Conduct motivational speeches at schools and local communities targeting young generations
3. Organizing charity drives and awareness programs to promote positivity
4. Collaborate and support NGOs which to carry out related project and campaigns


Here are 9 things you can start doing today to spread positivity!

1. Smile. Smiling puts you and the people around you into a more positive mood. It even works when you don’t feel much like smiling. Just try forcing a smile for 30 seconds if you are feeling a bit negative and see what happens.


2. Give a genuine compliment.Compliments are awesome. But make it a genuine one. Make sure you really mean it or it may have the opposite effect as your insincerity shines through. Find something a bit unexpected – like great taste in old soul music rather than looks – and something that is important to the other person and make a positive, appreciative comment about that. 


3. Stop complaining. People who complain about every situation in their life are often considered toxic when establishing some kind of bond. Nobody feels comfortable around someone who only sees the negative side of life and who, in one way or another, assumes that others do too.Complaints are never the solution to problems and can become an obstacle to meaningful steps forward.


4. Encourage someone. There is much discouragement in the world. You may hear from people around you, you may receive much negativity from the TV and newspapers. Many will back down from doing something they want because of that atmosphere of discouragement. So instead, be an exception and encourage people to believe in themselves and what they want to do.


5. Change the way you feel. Emotions are contagious. So to spread positivity, know how you can create and sustain a positive attitude and optimistic mood. Know how to pick yourself up out of slumps. Besides smiling, you can also appreciate life more, change your physiology, act as you would like to feel, ask better questions and recall positive memories to make a quick emotional shift.


6. Perform a random act of kindness. Just holding up the door or pointing out the way for someone who seems lost can be a way to spread a little bit of positivity. It’s always nice when someone you don’t even know does something kind for you.


7. Be grateful. There are multiple ways to show appreciation towards others when they do us a favor or do something to improve our lives. Kind words, a note or some special invitation are simple ways to be grateful for the good things that others bring us. While many act altruistically, the least you can must is to demonstrate that their help was significant.


8. Be empathetic. Empathy is a quality that is rarely felt with total sincerity. However, learning to put oneself in another person’s place and prove this by one’s actions is quite good for everyone. This strengthens trust, improves communication and provides the solution to many problems that can affect social relations.


9. Let go of your fear. Fear is often one of the biggest obstacles among those who don’t leave their comfort zone. Although this can sometimes help you avoid dangerous situations, it almost always prevents you from doing what you want. Letting go of your fears and daring to face the consequences is a great way to increase positive thoughts and good vibes. Many people view a person who dares to live without fear and is willing to take risks as a positive individual.
